Baby Boy Shower Invitations

I adore the design of these baby boy shower invitations! They stand out from traditional layered invitations because they have cute button accents and sewing detail.

To Make These Invites You'll Need:

  • Blue cardstock paper
  • Truck/car print scrapbook paper
  • Vellum paper sheet
  • 4 buttons
  • Embroidery thread
  • Scissors/cutting tool

Directions:

Step One

Cut a piece of blue cardstock paper 5" wide by 6.5" high. This will become the back of your invitation and the thick paper will give it stability.

Step Two

Cut the printed sheet of scrapbook paper 4.5" wide by 6" high. This sheet will be the middle layer of your invitation.

Step Three

Print your wording onto a sheet of vellum paper and trim it down to 4" wide by 5.5" high. This is the top layer of your invitation.

Step Four

Layer the three layers as described. Using an awl or other sharp needle (like a thumb tack), poke holes equal distance apart around the border of the vellum sheet. Make sure the holes go through all three layers of the invitation.

Step Five

With a coordinating color embroidery thread, stitch up and down through the holes to create a stitched pattern. After you've gone all the way around, sew a button onto each corner of the vellum with the same thread.
