Vellum Handprint Baby
Shower Invitation

This is an adorable baby shower invitation that is so simple to make! It will only take you a few minutes to assemble each of these baby invitations, so if time is something you don't have a lot of, this may be just the baby shower invite for you!

To make this project I used:

  • White cardstock paper
  • Vellum paper with blue handprints
  • Adhesive glue
  • 1 blue safety pin
  • 8 small blue brads
  • Scissors (and/or cutting tools)
  • Ruler

Step One

Decide what size invitation you'll make. The dimensions will be determined by whether you are using pre-made envelopes, or plan to make a custom envelope to fit the size of your shower invitation.

After you have selected the size and wording for your project, use your desktop publishing software to print it onto the white cardstock paper .

(In case you are wondering, the size of the center paper in the photo above is 3.5 inches wide by 4.75 inches high).

Step 2

Cut a piece of vellum paper (I used an opaque paper with blue handprints) one inch wider than your center piece, and two inches higher than your center piece. For example, if the size of your center cardstock is 3.5 inches by 4.75 inches, cut a piece of vellum at 4.5 inches by 6.75 inches.

Step 3

Cut a piece of your white cardstock to the same dimensions as your vellum. This will act as the background for the vellum and give the invitation stability.

Step 4

Now to assemble the pieces! Using your adhesive, glue the center piece (with writing) onto the center of the vellum. Leave a half an inch on each side, and one inch at the top and the bottom.

Step 5

Place the white back sheet behind the vellum and attach the layers together with brads in the corners. Add a blue safety pin to the center of the top. Your invitation is finished! Doesn't it look cute?
