There are several ways to make a footprint baby invitation, and below I've illustrated two of my favorite. Use these as a guide...you can change the paper or embellishments to make your own creative baby shower invitation.
Baby Shower Footprint Invitation #1
Items You'll Need to Make this Footprint Baby Invitation...
Pink cardstock paper
Scrapbook paper with a print
White paper
Footprint stickers
Ribbon
Vellum paper
4 silver eyelets
Craft adhesive
Ruler
Scissors/paper cutter
Something round to trace
Directions:
Step One
Cut a piece of pink cardstock paper 4.5" wide by 12" high (this is the size that I made the sample footprint baby invitation, but you can adjust yours to fit your envelope if needed). Fold the pink sheet over to create a 6" card that opens from the bottom.
Step Two
Stick your footprint stickers onto a sheet of white paper. Trace around the stickers using something round. Using a slightly larger round object (about 1" bigger), trace another circle onto your patterned paper this time (I used floral print in my example). Glue these two circles together and mount them to the front of your card with adhesive. Glue a small bow to the front too.
Step Three
Create a sheet of paper that is 3.5" wide by 5.5" high with your baby shower information on it. Mount this to the inside of the card using a silver eyelet in each corner.
Baby Shower Footprint Invitation #2
Items You'll Need to Make This Footprint Baby Invitation...
One sheet of patterned two-sided cardstock
One sheet of coordinating patterned scrapbook paper
White paper
Paint (or glitter)
Glue
Ribbon
Dimensional letter embellishment
Scissors/paper cutter
Directions:
Step One
Cut a piece of two-sided patterned cardstock paper 9" wide by 6" high. Fold the paper over to create a card that opens from the side.
Step Two
To create the footprint on the front of your invitation, make your hand into a fist and put paint along the side of it:
Place your hand with paint down onto a sheet of white paper. Use your fingertip to add the toes. You can use this same method to make a glitter footprint, too...only use glue instead of the paint, and cover it in glitter:
Cut an oval shape around your footprint. Cut another oval shape that is about 1.5" bigger out of a coordinating patterned scrapbook paper. Mount these two ovals together, and glue them to the front. Attach a ribbon to the top of the oval shape, and glue a three dimensional embellishment to the bottom right corner of the invitation.
Step Three
Print the information for your baby shower onto a white sheet of paper and cut it to 4" wide by 5.5" high. Attach it to the inside of the invitation with glue, brads, or eyelets.
