For the sentimental person in your life

Our dad is extremely sentimental, so buying a gift rarely does the trick. This is what my brother, sister and I came up with:

Small glass vase (ie michaels or target)
Ribbon
Small, colorful styrofoam balls (michaels)
Colored construction paper
Sharpies

We each took construction paper (sparkley red, white, and black) and completed the phrases (in metallic sharpies):
1 I love you because...
2 I respect you because...
3 I remember when...
We each did as many as possible including stories from long ago. Then, we cut each little sentence or paragraph out so that each slip of paper had one completed phrase. We crumpled them into little balls! We put the styrofoam balls (red, white, and black) and the crumpled phrases into the vase and shook them up. Then, we tied the ribbon around the neck of the vase. It looked pretty sitting on his desk, and he could reach in for a happy thought whenever he felt like it, which turned out to be all in one day!
