Frosty the Snowman Pretzels
These frosty the snowman pretzels are one of the cutest snowman Christmas crafts around! Made with pretzel rods covered in white chocolate, these cute little snowmen make an adorable Christmas party favor.
I saw this snowman craft idea in Family Fun Magazine (December 2009 issue), but just like any DIY-girl, I changed it around a bit to make it my own.My kids helped me make a bunch of these to hand out at our holiday party. We placed one on each plate, and set some around in clear glasses for people to snack on. You can use them as stocking stuffers, too, but you have to make sure you put them near the top (the delicate features of frosty the snowman crush easily). I hope you enjoy making them as much as we do! Ingredients to Make Snowman Crafts:- 10 pretzel rods
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- 2 fruit roll-ups
- 10 gumdrops
- 1 package gummy Lifesavers
How to Build a Snowman Pretzel1. Use an orange colored gummy Lifesaver to cut small "carrots" (triangles) to use as the noses. Set aside.

2. Place 1 cup of white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl, and melt on 50% power for one minute. Stir. If there are still lumps in it, continue warming at 50% power for 30 seconds at a time. Be careful not to overcook the chips--they WILL burn!
3. Let the chocolate cool and thicken slightly. Begin dipping the pretzel rods, one at a time, into the melted white chocolate. Use a spoon or knife to spread and smooth it 2/3 of the way up the pretzel.

4. Place coated pretzels on a wax paper lined cookie sheet, and stick one orange gummy nose on the center of each pretzel. Place in the refrigerator for 2-3 minutes until the chocolate is hardened.

5. While you wait for the white chocolate to harden, prepare the decorations. - Cut each fruit roll-up into five sections to create frosty the snowman's scarves. Cut small fringe on the end of each scarf. Place these on the wax paper in the refrigerator to harden slightly (they are easier to work with this way).

- Match up one gummy lifesaver with each gumdrop and set aside.
- Place the 1/4 cup of chocolate chips into a microwave safe dish, and melt them using the directions from above. After melted, place in a sandwich bag and trim a VERY small hole out of one corner to create a decorating bag.

6. After the chocolate is completely hardened, begin drawing the faces and buttons on each snowman using the melted chocolate (in the sandwich bag). Place them back in the refrigerator for 2-3 minutes (to harden the eyes and buttons).

7. Using a drop of melted chocolate from your sandwich bag, put a dot on the back of each snowman. Wrap a fruit-roll up scarf around each one, using the chocolate to "glue" the scarf to the snowman. Again, place them back in the refrigerator to harden for 2-3 minutes.

8. Place a gummy Lifesaver around the top of each pretzel to make the rim of his hat. Put a drop of melted chocolate (again from your bag) into the center of each hat. Secure a gum drop to the center, again using the chocolate to "glue" it to the snowman. Then...you guessed it! Place the snowmen back into the refrigerator for 2-3 minutes to harden the chocolate.

9. Your frosty the snowmen are now complete...just place them in a glass or on a plate while they wait to be eaten!
