Items You'll Need:

  • Gift Cards
  • Clay pot
  • Potted plant
  • Bamboo skewers
  • Mod Podge
  • Tiny clothespins
  • Hot glue gun/hot glue
  • Items to decorate pot (paint, scrapbook sayings, etc.)

1. Have each child in the class bring in a gift card for their teacher. You can ask the teacher ahead of time for the names of their favorite places, or make it a theme bouquet (for example: all restaurants, all beauty, all to one store, all to a teacher's supply store, or just stick with a variety of cards).

2. Decorate a clay pot (with scrapbook sayings, paint, class photos, pictures of your teacher, photos of teachers favorite things, etc.). Use Mod Podge to glue items down. Seal with Mod Podge when you complete your finished design.

3. Place a potted plant into the decorated pot. You can use a house plant or flowers that can be placed in your teacher's garden later.

4. Hot glue tiny clothespins (usually found in the baby shower section of craft stores) to the end of bamboo skewers. You can also hot glue paper clips to the end of the skewers to hold the cards.

5. Clip a card onto each skewer and stick them into your potted plant in a "bouquet" design.
