Find the Perfect Groomsmen Gift Idea

Finding a unique groomsmen gift idea is simple if you give it some thought. They are the closest friends you have in life, and now they are going to stand by your side as groomsmen in your wedding...show them how much this means to you!

Tradition says that you should thank each groomsmen participating in your wedding with a special groomsmen gift. Don't waste your money on gifts with no meaning...give them something that they'll cherish and remember for years to come!

Remember, a groomsmen gift doesn't have to come in a neat little package...it can be an event you attend together one-on-one, or something like a day at a game as a group. Also, they do not all need to be the same--make each one unique and it is more personalized.

Look at the list below to find a memorable groomsmen gift idea:

  • Jewelry--cuff links, tie tac, pocket watch
  • Money Clip
  • Flask
  • Wallet
  • Desk Clock
  • Key Chain
  • Dresser Valet
  • Swiss Army knife/Leatherman
  • Business card holder
  • Binoculars
  • Playing cards/poker set
  • Golf accessories
  • Nice lighter
  • Framed photo of the two of you together (with or without engraving).
  • Tickets to an event that you can attend together after you get back from your honeymoon (a concert, theme park, baseball game, etc.). You can go to several one-on-one events, or buy tickets for the whole group to go to something together.
  • Nice wine opener and bottle of wine
  • Desk Set
  • Collectible Coins

Try not to overspend...you know your budget, and your groomsmen understand how expensive weddings are. They don't expect anything extravagant. If you've put some thought into the present, and it come from your heart, it will be perfect no matter what the cost!

Etiquette

In Emily Post's Weddings book by author Peggy Post, 3rd Edition (New York, Harper Collins Publishers, Inc., 1999), gift giving etiquette for groomsmen is as follows:

"The groom's gifts for his ushers are either put at their places at a bachelor dinner, presented at the rehearsal dinner, or given just before leaving the rehearsal when no dinner is planned. Any kind of small, personal item--a nice pen, a leather wallet, or cuff links--is suitable and may be engraved or monogrammed. The groom's gift to his best man may be the same gift he gives to the ushers or a more elaborate one."
