Ice cream cone cupcakes are a perfect alternative to traditional birthday cakes. Kids love them, and once parents learn how easy a cupcake cone is to make, they'll love them, too! Plus, individual servings make a cupcake ice cream cone easy to serve and enjoy.
Items You'll Need for Ice Cream Cone Cakes:

Muffin Pan
Directions to Make Ice Cream Cone Cake
1. Preheat oven and prepare the batter according to the directions included with the cake mix (you don't need to use a special cupcake recipe...just use a boxed mix for the same results).
2. Wrap the outside of each cone with a piece of aluminum foil. The foil will protect the cone from the heat of the oven.
3. No need for a special ice cream cone cake pan...place each wrapped cone in a muffin pan to keep them standing. Fill each cone 2/3 full with batter. Allow space for cake expansion at the top of the cone.
4. Bake the cones according to the cupcake directions included with the cake mix.
5. After they cool, frost each cupcake cone and top with decorations (optional).
These are difficult to transport due to the shape of the cones. The easiest way I've found is to pack them tightly side-by-side in a casserole dish with high sides.
