I made this cute kids birthday party favor for a summer birthday, and the children (and parents) loved it! It's full of useful summertime items, rather than the usual plastic trinkets given at parties.
As I said, this is not your typical "loot bag." The items in it may be a bit more than you usually spend for a kids party favors, but if you watch for sales over time, you can make them on the cheap!
Items You'll Need:
Sand bucket
Metallic marker
Summer essentials (see below)
Clear basket wrap bag
Ribbon
Directions:
1. Offer Personalized birthday party favors by writing the child's name in metallic (or other) marker on the side of the sand bucket. A kid loves to get things with their name on it! I wrote "Thanks for coming to my party" and my child's name on the bottom.
2. Fill the bucket with fun summer items, such as:
Sunglasses
Beach balls
Rubber bands for hair
Flip flops
Bubbles
Squirt guns
Liquid freeze-pops
Silly string
Glow Sticks
It you're on a budget, shop at the Dollar Store or watch for end of season sales and tuck things away until summer.
3. When the bucket is full, wrap and clear basket wrap around it, and close with a ribbon.
Note: If this idea is too expensive to give to every child, you could use it as a prize for one of the games.
