Unique Kids Gift Ideas

I feel like I'm always trying to come up with unique kids gift ideas...between all of the holidays and the countless birthday parties, it gets pretty tough (and expensive) to find something that stands out and is within a reasonable budget.

I know from experience that kids love to receive homemade things just as much as we adults do! Of course, they still adore the store-bought toys, but if your children are like mine, they simply cherish the gifts that someone put a lot of thought into.

For example, my children received many nice gifts last year, but the one that they still play with is the simple treasure box that grandma made out of a cardboard box and construction paper (complete with a "treasure map" of our house, paper "pirates money", and plastic "jewels" from the dollar store)!

So, don't be afraid to think outside of the box and create a one-of-a-kind kids present for the next holiday or birthay party! Chances are they'll still be using it long after they've outgrown the store-bought items!
