Pecan Thanksgiving Favors
These pecan Thanksgiving favors are perfect to put at each place setting this Thanksgiving. They are easy to make, and taste SO delicious! Your guests will be impressed with your Martha Stewart like effort, and they'll have something yummy to take home from dinner with them.
To Make These Favors:
Yields 16 Servings (2 tablespoons each)
Ingredients
- 2 cups pecan halves (8 oz)
- 2 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons maple-flavored syrup or real maple syrup
Directions
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheet with cooking parchment paper. In 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and syrup; mix well. Cook until bubbly, stirring constantly.
2. Add pecans; cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until coated.
3. Spread mixture into a single layer onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Sprinkle with a little brown sugar (if desired) while they are still tacky. If you want to speed up the cooling process, you can place them in the refridgerator, but will need to pull them apart when finished.
4. Place them in clear treat bags (available at craft stores) and secure them closed with a ribbon or rafia. Consider attaching a Happy Thanksgiving card or writing each person's name on the tag to double as a Thanksgiving place card. Store any extra in a tightly covered container for up to 2 weeks.
